Wildlife Closeup Pictures
My new camera, a Canon PowerShot SX10IS, can take some really nice
close-up pictures. Some of the following were taken in macro mode:
in this mode, you have to get very close to the object being photographed
(often within an inch or two). Others were taken using the camera's
extreme (20x) optical zoom.
I managed to get very close to this red eft, the terrestrial stage of the eastern red-spotted newt.

This great blue heron flew in for just a few minutes.
A grasshopper climbing up the side of my house.
A dragon fly resting on a rock in my pond.
A dragon fly that landed on a reed.
